Day 3 of 47 for Lent Plan

GOD, I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THE BIBLE READING PLAN YOU HAVE BEEN WALKING ME THROUGH. I’M SORRY TO BE SO LATE GETTING THEM ON, BUT WITH YOUR HELP WE’LL GET THEM ON LITTLE BY LITTLE.
NO RUSH. JUST CONVALESCING WITH YOU, AND FOLLOWING YOUR LEAD IN SHARING WITH OTHERS.
YOUVERSION (A BIBLE APP YOU HAVE BLESSED ME WITH)
IS DOING A PLAN CALLED LENT: REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF JESUS.

Day 3 of 47 for Lent Plan – “The Baptism of Jesus”
Reading: Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, John 1:19-34 KJV

Further Study

  • Why do you think John didn’t want to baptize Jesus?
    – He didn’t feel worthy to baptize the Messiah.
  • Why did Jesus insist that John baptize Him?
    – To fulfill the scripture/prophecy
    – To obey
  • What descended upon Jesus after He came out of the water? What did “it” look like?
    – The Spirit of God descended upon Jesus after He came out of the water in the form of a dove.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
    – Faithful
  • Prayer: Pray for your extended family members.
    – Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, nieces, nephews, in laws, fosters, adopted, step, family friends (friends who are family to us), church family
  • Remembrance: Think about your baptism experience. What was that day like for you? (If you have not taken that next step, consider doing it soon!?
    – Lord, You know I was baptized twice. Once as a child (8 yrs old), and the other in 1994 (25 yrs old). At 8 I was scared because I was afraid of drowning. At 25 I was completely in another world at the time because I couldn’t stop comparing to the Satanic culture and practices going on in our area, including murder.
I literally felt like I was being sacrificed in Your blood instead of being baptized in water. When I arose I felt like I was literally covered by Your blood. It strangely felt empowering, and Holy, and Special, like I had gained knowledge the world didn’t understand, that same knowledge that was trying to convince my mind that what we just did was as sick as Satanic rituals, and kept telling me it was no different than my church mate who had recently been murdered/sacrificed.
But, Lord, You not only allowed me to learn her death was not quite as reported, and to understand the huge difference in those sacrifices were literally as different as life and death. But the biggest difference is that Jesus didn’t ask to kill me. He didn’t ask nor demand to kill anyone. Instead He took my place while carrying the weight of my sins upon His cross. He did it because He loves me. You sent Him (Your only precious and begotten Son) because You love me too.
  • Self-Examination: Are there any strained or unhealthy relationships in your life where you need to make changes?

A Kind Act

  • Hold the door open for someone even if they don’t need you to.
    – Amy needed to see a patient who just had double hip surgery, and the doctor asked Amy to evaluate her with her specialized skills. Amy is extremely graced with Your gifts for her, Lord. I pray for Amy, that patient, and the doctor, and all of Amy’s patients.

He Will Not Forget You!

img_736_20160817164802

“Can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me.”
– Isaiah 49:15-16 KJV

He will not forget you!
He loves you!

Day 39 of 47 for Lent Plan

God, I have been enjoying the bible reading plan You have been walking me through. I’m sorry to be so late getting them on, but with Your help we’ll get them on little by little.
No rush. Just convalescing with You, and following Your lead in sharing with others.
YouVersion (a bible app You have blessed me with)
is doing a plan called 40 Days of Lent.

Day 39 of 47 for Lent Plan“Teaching: The Holy Spirit”
Reading: John 16:5-15 KJV

Further Study

  • Why did Jesus say it was best for Him to go away?
    – To send us the Comforter ❤
  • Who will convict the world of sin?
    The Comforter.
  • What will the Spirit of Truth do? List three things.
    1. Guide us in all things.
    2. Speak not of itself, but tell us all things, which Jesus tells are of the Father.
    3. Glorify Jesus

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for ho He is.
    – Truth. Thank You, Jesus, for being true to our Father God! And to us ❤
  • Prayer: Pray for your closest friends.
  • Remembrance: Think of a time You were convicted over a sin in your life. Write about how you changed.
I was convicted over perversion in my life when I was trying to be abstinent. I was new to realizing I was a Christian and wanted to desperately obey Your word in waiting. It changed my life so much for the better… by far
  • Self- Examination: Do you find it easy to let the Holy Spirit guide you in your life?
There are many times I get in my own way trying so hard, but the Holy Spirit knows how to convict, to lead me in prayer and repentance, to comfort me with peace, love, and reassurance that I am forgiven. He nurtures the confidence You tells me I need in the day of re-reward.  And He prays for me with meanings and groanings than cannot be uttered. Then teaches my to pray, for myself, my family, my friends, my church, my community, the world, and even for my enemies!
He touches my love. He teaches me love and insight about my heavenly Father and His precious Son. Such wonderful things, They are glorious.”

“I think of my blessed Redeemer.
I think of Him all the day long,

I sing for I cannot be silent.
His love is the theme of my song.”

A Kind Act

  • Make a family member breakfast in bed.

Omni Love

gaillovesgodspoetry

My world may fall apart
And all that lives within it,
But I know that You’re in control
Every minute.
So much may come at me.
So much may threaten my day.
But I know You’re very aware
Of what comes my way.
So much loss in health and life,
And loved ones gone home.
But I know You’re always with me,
And never leave me alone.
Challenges, losses, and illnesses,
Just a few of my earthly foes.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent.
Just a few reasons why I love You so.

No More Time To Waste

Lord, hymns like the one below (Have I Done My Best for Jesus? by E. D. Young ) make me ask how I even have the right to ask such honest questions, let alone sing the words. But it also compels me not to waste any more precious time that needs to be used for furthering Your kingdom and reaching out to Your children. You deserve ALL Your praise! And I don’t wish to waste one more breath with questions that YOU have not given me as You do when You give me poetry, words of encouragement for others, and this invaluable hymn You gave to E.D. Young.

Thank You for allowing me to learn it,
for every time You have brought it to mind,
and for allowing me to sing it TO and FOR You!

I love You, Father! ❤ I love You, Jesus! ❤ I love You, Holy Spirit! ❤

cropped-43950423_10217158636227537_4643250897021829120_n.jpg

I wonder have I done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon the cruel tree?
To think of His great sacrifice at Calvary!
I know my Lord expects the best from me.

The hours that I have wasted are so many
The hours I’ve spent for Christ so few;
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

I wonder have I cared enough for others,
Or have I let them die alone?
I might have helped a wand’rer to the Savior,
The seed of precious Life I might have sown.

No longer will I stay within the valley
I’ll climb to mountain heights above;
The world is dying now for want of someone
To tell them of the Savior’s matchless love.

Chorus:
How many are the lost that I have lifted?
How many are the chained I’ve helped to free?
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
When He has done so much for me?

Heavenly Friendship

gaillovesgodspoetry

Friendship of a Savior
Who hath the Greater Love
To faithfully give that Good
And Perfect Thing from above.

Friendship of a Creator
Who made me for His Pleasure,
Who tells me my Image
Makes His treasure.

Friendship of a God
Who knew the Law
Would require a Blood Sacrifice
For us all.

Friendship of a Father
Who longed to Reconcile
His Prodigal Daughter
To being His Child.

Friendship of a Spirit
To Comfort, Guide, and Teach.
Who loves to Whisper, Nudge,
And Unconditionally reach.

Friendship of a Family
Preparing a Place for me.
Alas one day I’ll Fellowship
Where I was Always meant to be.

No Throwaways!

gaillovesgodspoetry

“No throwaways!” You assure me.
“I throw nothing of Mine away.
You are a treasured gift for Myself.
Do you have any idea what you mean to Me?
Block out what the world has told you.
Block out the doubt, little faith, and unbelief.
Hear Me, and only Me.
You are My precious child, My dear friend,
My daughter, and My beloved.
My bride that I wait so patiently for
Because she’s well worth the wait.
Never will you be tortured with mind games from Me.
I am NOT the father of confusion.
I am your Counselor, Wonderful, Faithful, and True.
I am known by Mine, and Mine know Me.
I look forward to loving you every new day.
I love you more and more.
No throwaways! You’re for keeps!”

Arms of Love

gaillovesgodspoetry

Bound by the Arms of Love,
My insecurities secure.
Those Arms of Love comfort me,
And help me to endure.
Wrapped in the Arms of God’s Love,
I long to linger with Him.
When it’s hard to face my realities,
He says, “We’ll deal with them.”
The Arms of Love embrace me,
And strengthen me when I’m weak.
I find my voice in the Arms of Love,
And find the courage to speak.
“Oh, Arms of Love, how grateful I am
That You would lift and hold me.
Being in Your Arms of Love
Has been the character to mold me.
Laying my head to rest in Your Arms of Love
Brings peace deep within.
I love being in Your Arms of Love
Again and again and again!”

Pouring Out Life

gaillovesgodspoetry

Life pouring out of a hurting soul.
It trickles as it falls.
A Savior’s blood pours forth to save,
His loving voice calls.
“My loved one I see the pain that drains,
And know all too well.
How it felt to suffer and agonize
When on My knees I fell.
I cried out to My Father to remove My burden,
Yet accepted what He gave.
And in return He strengthened Me
To bare it to My grave.
It took that death to restore that life,
And remove the burden within.
Now I have eternal life,
And will never lose it again.
I gave that life to give you yours
Because I love you so.
The Father longs to strengthen you,
And let your burden go.”

Soar

Oh how I long to soar with You, Holy Spirit! one day I will… SOON! ❤

Alethea's Mind

Pray

Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Face to Face

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
– 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

Face to Face with Christ, My Savior
– hymn lyrics by Carrie Breck

Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?

Refrain:
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him,
With the darkened veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.

What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
Death is swallowed up in vict’ry,
And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face—oh, blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.

Oh, Lord, how I long for that day when I shall see You face to face! To hug you! To Thank You! How loving and sovereign You are to banish grief and pain! To swallow up death with the victory of Your resurrection! The same resurrection that reconciles us! Never to be separated again! No other love has ever been so powerful! Thank You for going to prepare a place for me! Thank You for the promise I know You will keep in coming back for me! To take me home with You forever! Whenever You’re ready! ❤

Thank You for hymns! Such comfort for our souls! Peace that can only come from You! You are such a calm to my soul! Thank You for THIS hymn! For now I see through a dark glass, but soon I will see You face to face! And I will know You as You know me! To be known… like You know me! You will free me of myself! I will fully be who You made me to be! And I will be able see me the way You do! How I long for that blissful moment far beyond the starry sky! ❤

❤ I love You, Father! ❤
❤ I love You, Jesus! ❤
❤ I love You, Holy Spirit! ❤

Heard From The First Day!

“Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel:
for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand,
and to chasten thyself before thy God,
thy words were heard,
and I am come for thy words.”
– Daniel 10:12 KJV

My God loves me! ❤
He has known my heart from the 1st day!! 😍
And has heard EVERY WORD! 🥰
He knows how to melt my heart… like no one else! 😭

Great Things!

“Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.”
– Luke 8:39 KJV

To God Be The Glory

To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Chorus:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see
– To God Be The Glory, hymn lyrics by Frances J. Crosby

My loving and wonderful God, You deserve to be given praise and glory every single hour of the day! Great things You have done for me! My Jesus hath done great things for me! And every single one of those acts of love, protection, mercy, salvation and becoming the parts of me that You have created me to be deserve to be published so that ALL may know they were done… and are possible for them too! Thank You for such loving encouragement where there should be conviction even now, and truthfully there is.
I fail to tell so much of Your great things in fear of what man may think, in fear of disgracing You, and sometimes in purely selfish reasons. Please forgive me.

Holy Spirit, help me to be more faithful in publishing for my Lord of the great things He hath done for me! Jesus paid such a price for my voice. Help me to lift it up… in ink… in type… in speaking… in shouting… in singing.

To God be the glory! ❤
Great things He hath done… for me! 🙂

How Deep the Father’s Love For Us

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

How Deep the Father’s Love For Us
sung by Selah, lyrics written by Stuart Townend

Father. How deep Your love is for me. The words are so hard to find. I am so unworthy of You. I am blessed to be Your daughter. I am doubly blessed to call You Abba Father. Thank You for who You are, and for what You did through Your Son for me. Because You gave, I have received! I know what it’s like to long to have Your child home. I am so glad that Jesus is at Home with You now! And that I will be too! Soon and very soon! ❤
