Matt’s Questions for Me
1. What is your chronic illness or disability?
Unfortunately there’s more than one, but my fibromyalgia, lymphedema, lipedema, and spinal damage/disease seem to be my worst enemies at the moment.
2. What do you wish people would understand about your chronic illness or disability?
I can be fine one moment then practically bedridden the next day, at least walking the day after, then back to relying on a claw walker just to use the bathroom, and then back to doing well for a day or two. I never know what it will be from moment to moment. But God is still my strength even when I am weak.
3. What helps you to keep going?
The love of God ❤
4. What do you do on down days?
Pray, sing hymns while doing puzzle books or watching TV, write poetry, WordPress, and on really down downs I just lay in the arms of Jesus, trusting in His promises to love me at my weakest.
5. What is your favorite comfort food?
pasta cans… particularly Chef Boy-ar-dee Spaghetti or Lasagna. There’s something about the sauce that is healing and soothing to a sore throat and a queasy tummy.
6. If you binge watch shows, do you prefer Netflix, Hulu or other service?
Our household tends to binge on Roku or PureFlix.
7. How do you feel about your doctors?
I must say first that I am grateful to the Lord for the help He sends me.
My health is complex and complicated. I pray for my doctors, even the ones who are frustrated, or have given up. Praise God for the ones who don’t give up!

Christ is such a GIFT! He was given and given so much on our behalf. What a gift to know Him, love Him, and serve Him. I pray that you are able to accept and enjoy your gift in Him too! ❤
God is such a GIFT! He has been generous with us from the moment He gave us life. Without Him, nothing and no one would be. The most precious thing He ever gave me… was His Son! He gave Him for you too! God loves you! ❤
The Holy Ghost is such a GIFT! He gives me guidance, comfort, and peace that passeth all understanding! The most beautiful comfort He ever gave anyone was to my Savior as He hung on the cross for me and you. He is more than willing to give you the peace and comfort you seek! The Holy Ghost loves you! ❤
What kind of pumpkin am I?? Lord, You have an interesting sense of humor to allow Dawn of Drawing Closer to Christ to nominate me for the October|“What Kind of Pumpkin Are You?” Tag. I love the little story told in the picture. How cute. I confess those seeds of doubt still need some cleaning out. Not because I distrust you, but because I am still growing, and I know You are still washing the dirt off, and scooping out all the yucky stuff. Just when I think it’s all cleaned out, You find a seed I didn’t even know was there. You keep carving to get that smile to stay, and place a light inside that may not be visible to the human eye (nor my mind’s eye at times), but is absolutely You as my ever present help. My favorite part is when You pick me up! ❤
Thank you, Dawn, for a precious tag that causes me to take a moment to think on my relationship with Christ. I love considering the different ways God is working in my life. May you always see the light burning in your pumpkin! 🙂

He loves you so very much! ❤
Father God, Let me make it a point to first say, “Good early morning.” I love You and hope You’re blessed. Thank You for loving me. I’m sorry I have not been the testimony for you that I should. I’ve been reading back over some former notes and journals…. my undying, unwavering love for You is not being expressed as it should lately. Instead a cloud with a never ending darkness hovering over my pen, my head, and even my totally devoted heart.
I was also taken back in thought today by remembering when I thought I didn’t deserve You and thought I was too tainted for heaven, but I still cried out to You in love every day. Not because of me, but because of You. I told You time and time again that I was Yours even if You didn’t want me. That I understood if You didn’t, but that I still considered it Yours.
Many times when I thought today was surely the day when I would literally go insane, that this would be my breaking point, or would surely die, I would tell You to know that my heart, mind, body and soul was Yours, and always would be. Even if I went insane, to please see and hear my heart crying out to You, “I’m Yours!” I always will be. Even if You don’t want me, I love You! Please always hear that.
I pray that again now, Father. I have no idea what is going to happen from day to day. Will I lose my mind? My life? My health altogether? More than ever, I don’t know. And more than ever, I’m scared You’ll forget, or that I’ll say or do something I could never in my right mind do. But I know better than that.
I believe the majority of my problem are the medicines. No, I don’t care for the pain, the misery, and I do want to be mobile, functional, aware of my surroundings and behavior, so the side effects are the consequences. Seems there’s no simple or private solution. No peace.
Yet all I want my mind to focus on is You and the love of Your Son, my Savior Jesus Christ. What pain He suffered for me. He and the Holy Spirit both look out for me all day long, praying, guiding, whispering in my ear, and sending such comforting love like I’ve never known. May I ever endeavor to speak such words to You as You give to me. And no matter what happens, I love You! No matter what, I am Yours! I long to be home with You so much! Until Then! ❤
Until Then
-hymn lyrics by Stuart Hamblen
My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a trail that’s winding always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.
Chorus
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they’re borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.
Chorus
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
This weary world with all its toil and struggle
May take its toll of misery and strife;
The soul of man is like a waiting falcon;
When it’s released, it’s destined for the skies.
Chorus
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.

You deserve every bit of recognition, Lord…. on the site You have given me to declare to the world Gail Loves God… and on Something to Stu Over as Stu ministers to those who are fighting porn addiction. Everyone needs to know and hear God Loves You!

May the Lord bless you! He loves you so much!Award rules:
• Thank the nominator, and publish a post on your blog about receiving the Blogger Recognition Award. Make sure to provide a link to the nominator’s blog in your post.
• Give a brief story of how your blog started.
• Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
• Nominate 10-15 other bloggers for this award, and inform them of their nomination.
How My Blog Got Started:
I began years privately talking with God. At one point the Lord led me to do a challenge a friend was doing, and to open my settings from private to public. To my delightful surprise I met and became a part of a wonderfully encouraging community that would let me know that my conversations with God were encouraging, and allowed the Lord to touch or bless them. Some even let me know they had or were going through similar situations. Whatever God wants to do with the blog He gave me, is all up to Him! 🙂
Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers:
1. Write what you want, when you want, or not! It’s YOUR blog!
2. God loves you and wants to preserve you through His word!
Recently a friend asked me how I knew I could trust God. Why did I believe Him? This friend knew my background… foster care, molestation, violence and death, and being a single mom. At first I told them I had been asked that before and thought on it. All I could say was because of God! He has made HImself present all throughout my life. He has proven Himself true and faithful many times over.
Later at home, while I was praying on the question what makes me believe in Him and makes Him trustworthy, I was doing my devotion. God made it clear He was answering the question as He had me open to
Mem: Psalm 119:97-104.
O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
I’ve never really wanted to come across as arrogant in saying such things as… wiser than mine enemies, more than my teacher, or more than my ancients, but the Lord Himself was pointing out to me this particular moment that He WAS being specific in that while my enemies were and are ever with me, that His word gave me the wisdom to be wise in how I conducted myself to survive them and to live despite them. He gave me understanding to help me see while some teachers meant well, that HE was my teacher in appropriate living, and the discretion to simply grow quietly with Him. And He protected me from the misconceptions and family cycles of the ancients of my growing up (aka ancestors or elders), and through His precepts gave me understanding that preserved my soul, my thinking, and my life. Because I sought to know Him, His word, and His commandments… to know His will in my life… He has used wisdom, understanding, discernment, knowledge, His testimony, His judgment, and everything about HIM to personally be my teacher, my guide, my God. And I love everything about Him and His word! That is how I came to firmly believe in Him, and wholeheartedly trust Him and His Holy word. And I still do. 🙂
And you know, after I sent that message to my friend, the Lord allowed me to see the 98th verse anew.
“Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies:
for they are ever with me.”
He allowed me to see His commandments as ever being with me, instead of my enemies. 🙂 What a loving teacher He is!

Complete in Thee! – hymn lyrics by Aaron R. Wolfe
Complete in Thee! no work of mine
May take, dear Lord, the place of Thine;
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And I am now complete in Thee.
CHORUS:
Yea, justified! O blessed thought!
And sanctified! Salvation wrought!
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And glorified, I too, shall be!
Complete in Thee—no more shall sin,
Thy grace hath conquered, reign within;
Thy voice shall bid the tempter flee,
And I shall stand complete in Thee.
Complete in Thee—each want supplied,
And no good thing to me denied;
Since Thou my portion, Lord, wilt be,
I ask no more, complete in Thee.
Dear Savior! when before Thy bar
All tribes and tongues assembled are,
Among Thy chosen will I be,
At Thy right hand—complete in Thee.

Lord, This is meant to be a note to follow up for those You are allowing me to share the bible study You are currently allowing me to do.
Rachel & Leah: What Two Sisters Teach Us About Combating Comparison.
Written by Nicki Koziarz.
To follow the theme of Week One:
You Need To Be Honest,
I need to be honest in saying I did not get a chance to even do my homework until the the last hour or two before night 2. I was pulled off in a parking lot and realized right off… Oh no, this was a daily homework thing. So I did the best I could. Look for questions and comments I could answer.
I made it back to the church and realized I didn’t even bring in a camera. Thank You for the picture from last week! At least I remembered to bring the Bloom book by Caralyn, and the Coloring Journal. I gave those to Keitha (an assignment from You that took months to achieve.) I sat down with the ladies just in time before we began.
While we were having snacks and sharing our discussion, it would be right near the last conversation that You gave me a very clear message from Keitha! She was talking about the verse we were using for the week…
Psalm 139:1 “Lord, you have searched me and known me.”
In the homework it had said to read verses 1-16 of the chapter, and advised reading the whole chapter. I have loved this chapter for so long, so of course I read it all. When Keitha started talking about God knowing our thoughts… ALL of them… and still loving us… and she said this with excitement and amazement… and a “Girlfriend!” added on….
THAT was the whole week for me right there!
I hadn’t even realized that was the lesson. Because while I did have the nerve block that wiped me and left me feeling so amazingly calm and good, and very tired, I also struggled with thoughts! All kinds of random thoughts of past abuse, childhood memories, the filth I lived, the filth I’ve seen, the cruelty among people, family problems, sibling fighting, and more. These questions in the study just from the 1st night had stirred a lot of this. And as much as I would pray to the Lord for forgiveness and help to resist these thoughts, especially to stop interfering with praying and getting things done, it seemed like a battle I was losing. The only determination I seemed to follow through on was getting something read before night 2!
And there it was… YOU KNEW MY THOUGHTS! AND LOVE ME ANYWAY! ❤
I felt You personally saying… “And that was YOUR lesson for the week.”
From there I sensed Your leading to do a follow up to what I learned in the week, but this week it is exactly what the theme was… I have to be honest and say I didn’t get it read until just before night 2. Which meant I did not get anything accomplished between the physical issues and my thoughts, but I DID learn MY lesson for the week.
YOU KNOW ME! YOU KNOW MY THOUGHTS!
AND I AM STILL LOVED BY YOU! ❤
That’s what the verse had been all week…
Lord, thou hast searched me and known me! – Psalm 139:1
When Keitha said, “That’s what it’s all about. He knows where we are, what we are going through, what’s coming at us, and the thoughts we can’t seem to get away from. Girlfriend, He even knows when it’s all our own doing. But He loves us!” You immediately brought to mind the song You have just recently introduced me to… Known by Tauren Wells.
If I just allow myself to be honest about whatever is coming between You and me, no matter how much I fear I shouldn’t have that problem if I have You, no matter how much I fear You will be disappointed, and I just don’t want to do anything to hurt You. But in being honest, I am trusting You with what You already know… ME! No matter what comes at me or I simply need to hand over to You, I need to trust You.
I want to trust You! I do trust You! I trust You like no one else!
Lastly, You give me Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
My 85 yr old stepdad (Bobby) and I thought we would share a little fun with you in some popsicle humor. You have to eat these popsicles first to read the joke on the stick. At the most, they sometimes show enough of the joke on the bottom of the handle to make you think on the question, but you still have to enjoy your popsicle to read the answer.
They’ve put a few smiles on our faces. We pray they do the same for you! 🙂

These are just a couple of Your verses that You have me thinking on with Carol Anne of Therapy Bits nominating me for the My 7 Favorite Things Tag! Thank You for her thoughtfulness, Lord.
Bless her and her blog.
Thank you, Carol Anne, for thinking of me with the nomination.
May God bless each one of you! He loves you each! ❤
The Rules:
1. Link back and thank the person who tagged you.
2. Link back and thank the blogger who started the tag.
(I don’t know who this is. In trying to find out, I see some have stated, “That was Beth.” However, I am uneasy with linking her page due to difficulties in verifying this.)
3. List and picture at least seven of your favorite things.
4. Tag at least seven people.
5. List the rules.
My 7 Favorite Things! In no particular order!
(This should JUST 7 of my favorite things because God’s blessings are too many to count. They are infinite! The are a delight to share and praise!)
1. I love that Jesus came for me! That little baby in the manger came to give His life for me, to save me from eternal death, and to give me eternal life. He did it for you too! And just in case you do not know it, He’s fine! He is risen! He’s alive! And He went away to prepare a place for you and me! Jesus loves you and me! ❤
“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”
– Romans 5:10 KJV
2. I love that God knows me by name… and everything about me… and He STILL loves me! For who I am! And I am His! ❤ I am so eager to get to heaven and learn my new name that only HE knows!
3. I love talking with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in prayer. And even more so while giving Him the reverent respect He deserves… kneeling. I used to love actually being able to lay on my face as they did in the bible (it’s called prostrate prayer) when I was physically able. But no one knows better than my Jesus that I am blessed to have finally been on my knees again recently for the first time in years! Praise God for doctors and therapists!
4. I love God’s Holy Word… aka the Holy Bible. I personally prefer using the KJV (King James Version), but the Lord can use what He will. It is His will, His spirit, and His personal relationship with each one. God’s love letter is the most incredible and thoughtful message to each one of us. Everyone is always saying I wish there was an instruction manual on life… THERE IS! We don’t always get the answers we want, and sometimes we have to learn the hard way that there is not a set answer for everything. But God is there! Waiting to meet you! ❤
“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.” – Psalm 119:97 KJV
I have favorite verses ALL OVER THE BIBLE!
5. I love writing poetry and stories. God blessed me with this love at the age of 9, just after I was saved but was in foster care. It has helped to save me from myself. You can check out some of those writings on my poetry blog… gaillovesgodspoetry. My favorites are those that magnify and glorify Him… whether in the testimony He created in my life, or to write about the things He gives me… like trees. I am so fascinated by them. 🙂
6. I love ladies bible studies… especially with Keitha leading them! I am grateful to God for her heart for Him. She keeps it real. She keeps it about God. And God keeps Keitha’s personality all over. HE gave her that gift of encouragement and leadership. Thank You, God, for each time You have allowed me to attend… whether just a week or a whole series!
Me and God love you, Keitha! ❤
7. I love my gift from God… my son Anthoni (aka Inner Man Theatre). He has been a blessing from the day he arrived. God has amazed me, saved me, led me, taught me, and loved me through my son. People completely underestimate what children can do to save someone from their own lives. If you’re single, underage, in a difficult situation, abandoned, or in anyway blessed with a pregnancy that seems ungodly remember… ONLY GOD CAN GIVE LIFE! That innocent life may be the very rescue that you need. God has sent that child FOR YOU for some reason. He loves you! ❤
