God, I have been enjoying the bible reading plan You have been walking me through. I’m sorry to be so late getting them on, but with Your help we’ll get them on little by little.
No rush. Just convalescing with You, and following Your lead in sharing with others.
YouVersion (a bible app You have blessed me with)
is doing a plan called Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus.

Day 9 of 47 for Lent Plan – “Jesus Urges Disciples to Pray for Workers”
Reading: Matthew 9:35-38 KJV

Further Study

  • What two things did Jesus do as He was teaching in synagogues?
    – preaching and healing
  • How did Jesus feel when He saw the crowds gathered around Him?
    – He had compassion on them.
  • Who do you think Jesus was referring to when He said “workers?”
    – People  who have surrendered their lives to serve God and further kingdom, bringing his lost sheep home, to bring healing to the suffering, and compassion for the broken and empty.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
Compassionate. Thank You, God, for the heart You have for Your creation, even when they reject You, or simply stray. Even when You are doubted, feared, rejected, persecuted… You are such a loving and compassionate God. I am grateful and so honored to call You my God, my Healer, my Father! ❤ I love You!
  • Prayer: Pray for your extended family members.
  • Remembrance: At some point in your life, someone told you about Jesus. Think about that time in your life. What feelings surface for you?
    – Joy, a delightful smile to think on Molly. She came to an 8 yr old knelt at the altar and scared. She could tell I wasn’t there by choice. She asked me if I knew what I was doing. When I told her I was waiting on my Mom, Molly asked if I knew what my Mom was doing. I told her no. Molly said Mom was praying to Jesus. When I didn’t respond , Molly asked if I knew who Jesus was. I told her no. When she began to tell me I was broken hearted for this… to know we caused HIm to die. My first thought was actually, “You mean there’s an adult who doesn’t punish us, even when we deserve it? I was shocked. But when she told me of how He was punished for us so that we could be forgiven I felt so bad. When she said He died, I was so sad.
So along with that joy of Molly, I am grateful, and I am broken again for Him. Of course I know He’s fine, and that all is well. But to think that He would die for me. 😦 To think that He would forgive me. To know that He doesn’t punish me even when I deserve it. There is no one else like our God. No one ever cared for me like Jesus. ❤
  • Self- Examination: Are you a “worker” for God? Ask God to place opportunities in front of you to impact someone for Christ.
    – I try to be. Lord, whatever You want, I’m here and want to do it Your way. I admit I’m reluctant because I cannot promise to be the faithful, perfect witness or testimony. I can so easily give up or be a flawed witness. How many times have things been so incredibly crazy just after I prayed this very prayer of sending someone, but instead of leading them to You, they led me to a brick wall to bang my head against it day and night. Even so, Lord. Here am I. Send me. Or send them. Your will. Not mine.

A Kind Act

  • Tell the person closest closest to you how much they mean to you.
    – Anthoni 🙂 ❤

Day 18 of 47 for Lent Plan

God, I have been enjoying the bible reading plan You have been walking me through. I’m sorry to be so late getting them on, but with Your help we’ll get them on little by little.
No rush. Just convalescing with You, and following Your lead in sharing with others.

is doing a plan called Lent: Remembering the Life of Jesus.

Day 18 of 47 for Lent Plan – “Miracle: Jesus Transfigured On Mountain”
Reading: Matthew 17:1-13, Mark 9:2-13, Luke 9:28-36 KJV

Further Study

  • Why do you think Peter, James, and John “fell facedown to the ground, terrified” at what they saw? (Reference Exodus 3:5)
    – They were afraid when they heard the voice of God.
  • What command did God give them in the cloud regarding Jesus?
    – To listen to Jesus.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
    – HOLY! You are Holy, Lord God Almighty! ❤ Praise Your Holy name! ❤
  • Prayer: Pray for Your closest friends.
  • Remembrance: Think of a time when you were astonished by something God did for you. Write about that and how it impacted your life.
    – He allowed me to be the mom of this precious little boy. God trusted me to take care of another human being. He allowed the most gorgeous eyes and little pair of arms to call me Mom. God sent me two little arms to hug and hold me. God trusted me with a little boy who loved me unconditionally.
It changed my whole life, my way of thinking, and so much more. God used Anthoni to teach me of His love for me, as well as His role  as my Heavenly Father. He helped me to grow strong, to have purpose, and answered prayer. I prayed for Anthoni. I wanted a child back to You, God. You honored that prayer in complete amazement!
  • Self-Examination: Do you find yourself regularly obeying God even if it goes against what your heart desires?
    – I pray that I quickly and faithfully obey in everything, regardless the cost. What Jesus did for me wasn’t a cake walk for You, God, in the sense that it meant watching Your only begotten Son be mocked, ridiculed, persecuted, betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, whipped, scourged, spat on, made a joke, stripped of His garments, gambled over, crowned with thorns that dug into His head, mailed to a cross by His hands and His feet, abandoned, agonizing in the garden while crying out to His Heavenly Father, pierced in His side, dead from the weight of the sins of the world, buried in a borrowed tomb, unable to be consoled or hugged until the Sabbath was over to fulfill what He was separated from You for.
Obedience is the LEAST I can do for both of You.

A Kind Act

  • If you encounter someone at a store who is doing great work, tell their manager.

Day 24 of 47 for Lent Plan

God, I have been enjoying the bible reading plan You have been walking me through. I’m sorry to be so late getting them on, but with Your help we’ll get them on little by little.
No rush. Just convalescing with You, and following Your lead in sharing with others.
YouVersion (a bible app You have blessed me with)
is doing a plan called 40 Days of Lent.

Day 24 of 47 for Lent Plan – “Healing: Man Born Blind”
Reading: John 9:1-34 KJV

Further Study

  • According to John 9:3, what seems to be a common cause for someone having an infirmity like blindness?
    – For God’s purpose, to glorify God.
  • How was the healing different than Jesus merely saying the word?
    – He used mud to put in the blind man’s eyes, and He had spit in that mud.
  • Why were the religious leaders angry that this man was healed?
    – Because Jesus healed Him on the Sabbath.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
    – Interesting. Lord, Your ways are so unique so interesting, often teaching us wisdom if we just ask, listen, and pay attention. Thank You for being free with Your knowledge.
  • Prayer: Pray for your extended family members.
  • Remembrance: John 9:25 is a profound statement, “One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” Have you ever felt something like this? Fill in your own blanks: I was filth but now I am cleansed.
    – Thank You, God, for it. Thank You, Jesus, for ridding me of filth, cruelty, and ungodly ways and ungodly people. In Your name I pray. Amen.
  • Self-Examination: Think about something great that happened in your life that you just can’t explain. Write about it.
    – Anthoni!! Why You allowed a single teenager who was promiscuous to have a child she had been praying for, and blessed Anthoni and me! I can’t explain except that it was all by Your hand! Answered prayer.

A Kind Act

  • Buy or pick flowers for someone

30 Questions Tag 10.13.19

Dear Lord, You just keep the tags and awards coming! You know how to keep me faithful in sharing and encouraging when it can be so easy to give in to exhaustion and depression. Thank You for whispering my name to Sharon of Sharon Brown Photo in nominating me for the 30 Questions Tag. Bless her and her blog, Father. You have given her a gift with photography. Thank You for all the things You allow photography to bring my eyes that I might not otherwise ever see.30 Questions Homemade badgeThank you, Sharon! God bless you and your photography. Your blog is an adventurous blessing. I look forward to your “1st Ever Photogvember” through November! Thank you for thinking of me! God loves you!!! ❤

1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called?
Currently the Lord brings to mind a college buddy (Effy, short for Ephraim) used to call me Shakespeare. It was cute and funny, especially in his Indian accident. He loved saying it too. If the Lord allows I will blog on a favorite memory of Effy calling me Shakespeare that always brings a smile to my face. 🙂

2. How often do you doodle? What do your doodles like?
All the time. Either poetry, sometimes images, and a lot of times just scratch.

3. What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive?
Pray, read God’s word, recite God’s word, sing hymns

4. Do people consider you as talkative or quiet?
Depends on who you ask. Most people say quiet. Family says talkative.

5. What makes you cry?
Missing loved ones, breaking God’s heart, remembering God’s mercies

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
People hurting one another… especially children.

7. How many times a day do you look at yourself in the mirror?
Just enough to make sure hair and teeth are clean, or maybe an eyelash in the eye.

8. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
Because I heard the word quarter referred to being 25 cents, it took me a long time before I understood that a quarter was 1/4 of a full dollar. Somehow even though I did great in math, I would still confuse someone saying 1/4 as to meaning 25 of something.

9. What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?
A guilty pleasure implies a wrong pleasure. John Wayne movies are so funny, but the language, drinking, and references to beating women to keep them well behaved is wrong. I really should avoid them and discourage my family from doing so.

10. Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know?
Our Lord Jesus Christ! And while the crucifixion was not random, it was certainly the kindest thing anyone ever done for any of us.

11. How often do you read the newspaper? Which sections?
Rarely. Usually online for an obituary or particular article. But I will read it word for word if there is one lying around in the doctor’s office or hospital, as there usually is.

12. Which animal scares you the most?
Anything that cause serious harm or death.

13. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on?
I prefer to face things head on, but sometimes I do avoid conflict if it seems wiser.

14. What was the most recent compliment you’ve received?
That I am blessed more than most in my faith. (God really left me speechless and absorbing the depth of those words. I’m still awestruck.)

15. What question are you tired of hearing?
Does God really care? – He does! He loves you and cares so much!

16. What is the strangest thing you have eaten?
Wax candy when I was a child. YUCK! I hated it! Why are we eating candles???? 😉

17. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends?
Both. God has blessed me with an abundance of both. ❤

18. Do you have a catchphrase?
God loves you! ❤

19. What’s your all-time favorite town or city? Why?
Heaven! It’s where my mansion is! I am so homesick!! 😦

20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
Gail! It’s my middle name now.

21. When was the last time you lied?
I really can’t remember, but whatever it was stays between me and God.

22. What’s something that amazes you?
The Love of God!! ❤

23. Would you rather be the first person to explore a planet or be the inventor of a drug that cures a deadly disease?
Invent a drug to cure a deadly disease…. hopefully cancer is just one of them!

24. What is your favorite amateur activity?
blogging

25. What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?
Oh my head hurts! I woke up with a headache.

26. What is your favorite song (at least at the moment)?
Take My Life and Let It Be (Consecrated Lord To Thee)
I love this hymn! ❤

27. List someone you know, and describe them in 5 words.
my son Anthoni: Godsent, blessed, blessing, gift, God’s

28. You can select one person from history and have them truthfully answer one question. Who would you select and what would the question be?
“Lazarus, How long did you live after Jesus brought you back from the dead, and what did you die of the 2nd time?”

29. Which celebrity or artist do you resemble the most?
When I was younger I was often told I looked like Karen Carpenter. I had to look up who she was and loved her music… her voice. I was sad when a teacher told me she died.

30. What do you want me to know?
God loves you!!! ❤
