Ancient of Days

gaillovesgodspoetry

The Ancient of Days,
My God, Most High.
The Son of Man,
Your kingdom is nigh.
Your enemies are present,
Enjoying their day,
But the time is coming
They will all pass away.
Only Your kingdom will remain.
Only You will have dominion.
You will rule every hour,
And be praised every minute.
Every nation will serve You,
Every tongue proclaim,
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior,
Praise His Holy name.
Take heart, o saints of His,
He’s coming on heavenly clouds.
His thousands will be with Him,
And we will be among the crowds.
What greatness He has in store
For servants that serve and obey,
An everlasting kingdom
That will NEVER pass away.

No Enemies In Heaven

gaillovesgodspoetry

Heaven, what a friend you are
To keep our enemies out,
To guard those pearly gates.
No place for fear and doubt.
Peace and godly rest
Are promises God has made.
He is the Sonshine
That will never fade.
He will not allow entrance
To any foe or enemy.
All will be rid of flesh,
Including me.
No more lingering threat.
No more unkind nightmares.
With our new glorified bodies,
No pain or burdens to bear.
We won’t even remember
All that we face now.
In our new haven above
Enemies are just not allowed.
Thank you, heaven, for being
A faithful place to long for.
Whether self or another,
Enemies will be no more.

Eternal Day of No Enemies

gaillovesgodspoetry

Jealousy, envy, rage,
All create the fiercest enemies.
Foes that torture,
And bring you to your knees.
They carry hatred and vengeance,
And weapons to wound and kill.
They seek that one opportunity,
Because they will.
Deep inside each one of us
Is another wicked foe
Causing havoc in our mind,
And to those we love and know.
That old man is eaten up
In a flesh of sinful nature.
Without the Holy Ghost,
He can never spiritually mature.
God can be an enemy
To those who stand against Him,
To those who threaten His children,
Or would dare to harm them.
God can stop the evil, wicked, and ugly.
God can put to death.
God can stop the heart.
God can remove breath.
But He has created a place
Where no enemies are allowed.
All tongues will confess.
All knees will bow.
This eternal Day will come,
To know…

He Thirsted for Me

gaillovesgodspoetry

The Lord thirsted for me
To choose to abide,
To pause and linger
At His precious side.
He thirsted for conversation
Having my full attention,
Hanging on every word,
Listening with intention.
He thirsted for my presence,
And to look into my eyes,
To see my inner child smile
With gasps and sighs.
He thirsted to feel me near,
Leaning in awe and wonder,
Resting in the assurance
That none could tear us asunder.
He thirsted for my heart
To shelter His in mine,
To tell me He loves me,
And leaves me peace of mind.

Oceanic Praise

gaillovesgodspoetry

There is a flowing ebb
Right before my eyes.
It dances with the horizon,
And paints the dramatic skies.
There is a sailing wind
That gusts upon the tide.
It thrusts the raging seas
Into a boisterous ride.
There is a lingering howl
That bemoans the parting moon.
Lulling each bewailing heave
Into a gentle murmuring croon.
How intimate the vast expanse
Offers it’s proper praise
To the Creator of heaven and firmament
Adorned in splendid array.

Summoned Out of the Fire

gaillovesgodspoetry

Summoned out of the Fire
By the one who threw me in.
God has been walking with me.
He has been my defense.
Though the flames danced around me,
He taught me to dance with Him.
The enemy has exercised power,
But God was more powerful than them.
No stain, no hint, no smell of smoke
Touched me or caused me hurt.
He loosed me from my bondage
Without ever saying a word.
God sent His angel to me
The precious Son of God.
He has summoned the doors to open.
He leads with staff and rod.
The Burning Bush on the Mountain
Is an all Consuming Fire.
He turns the flames of His enemies
Into an ancient pyre.
