We Have Yet To Understand

gaillovesgodspoetry

Christmas falls like snow in the air
On a sunny and warm day.
Things are as expected,
God will have His way.
He needs no permission of the calendar,
Nor direction from the sun.
He knows how to do mysterious wonders.
He smiles for the fun.
The air turns cold as night arrives,
And He blankets the earth with snow.
He loves the delight in the child’s eye.
He creates a tender glow.
We recognize Your power, Lord.
Our seasons are in Your hand.
For everything we think we know,
We have yet to understand.

Omni Love

gaillovesgodspoetry

My world may fall apart
And all that lives within it,
But I know that You’re in control
Every minute.
So much may come at me.
So much may threaten my day.
But I know You’re very aware
Of what comes my way.
So much loss in health and life,
And loved ones gone home.
But I know You’re always with me,
And never leave me alone.
Challenges, losses, and illnesses,
Just a few of my earthly foes.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent.
Just a few reasons why I love You so.

For You

gaillovesgodspoetry

For you I walk away
From all that interferes
With You trying to comfort me,
And taking away my fears.
For You I lay aside
All that tries to compete.
You alone
Make my heart complete.
For You I reevaluate
All that’s dear to me.
No more questions linger.
I can see clearly.
For You I pen the end with love,
And know You do the same.
My loving God who loves me.
My God who knows my name.

Happy Birthday, Jesus! 2019

Happy Birthday, Jesus! I love You! Thank You for coming!

Merry Christmas, Everyone! God loves you!

A lot of songs were introduced to me this year, and I love that several of them were songs singing Happy Birthday to Jesus in beautiful and honoring ways. Yet the one I will share with you is a song my son sent me a link of to let me know His new current favorite.

How Many Kings? by Downhere

It was immediately a favorite for me as well. I was touched by it. The chorus alone tugged at my heart from such honest words.

How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only One did that for me.

Only One did this for me!
And He did it for you too!
God loves you! ❤

Beautiful and Festive Display

gaillovesgodspoetry

Sparkles of light in the misty air.
Ribbons of color dance with flair.
Glitter glistens and shimmers in the light.
Snowflakes fall in the cool of the night.
The wonder of winter at Christmas time
Delightfully brightens the playful chime.
What a beautiful and festive display
Of the Holy and majestic day.
The precious Child born a King,
With Godly love and salvation to bring.
A path of pain and tears he’ll bear
To give the greatest gift to share.
Eternal Life is ours to receive.
All we have to do is just believe.
Join the angelic host in singing.
Hear the Hallelujah bells ringing.

His Creative Scheme

gaillovesgodspoetry

The pen, the ink,
The paper that tells the story.
The narrator that reads.
It’s all a part of His creative scheme.
We are His subjects.
He is our king.
The Author and Finisher of our faith.
He whispers to our spirit.
We long to hear it.
Quick obedience is key.
He loves the pen that’s ready to flow.
He loves the lips that are ready to speak.
His Story…
Is filled with His Glory! ❤
So Let It Be!
Amen.

Visiting Love

gaillovesgodspoetry

Love flows by
Like a little creek of water.
I hear you whisper,
“You are my precious daughter.”
Love floats by
Like a passing cloud in the sky.
I hear you whisper,
“With Me one day you’ll fly.”
Love glides by
Like a frozen piece of ice.
I hear you whisper,
“Life with you is nice.”
Life walks by
Like a couple strolling in love.
I hear you whisper,
“I wait for you above.”

A Delightful Celebration

gaillovesgodspoetry

Twinkle, twinkle, Christmas light,
You brighten the Christmas tree.
I love to watch your playful dance
As you entertain me.
Tinsel and glitter, how you glisten.
I love to watch you shine.
You make the tree come alive.
The pleasure is all mine.
Balls and bows, and ornaments,
Garland to wrap around.
A beautiful star to top the tree,
And presents to be found.
A delightful way to celebrate
The life of Jesus Christ.
The Savior born to be a King.
Our Lamb of Sacrifice.

Exposing What’s Within

gaillovesgodspoetry

A little girl sad and quiet
Leaned against the tree.
She has failed to save her friend
From a violent tragedy.
A life was lost and thrown away
To hide the sinner’s sin.
But God is watching everything
And exposes what’s within.
A hiker comes across the girl,
And can sense what is wrong.
Both the girls lost their fight
Against someone too strong.
The surviving girl is rescued,
And is evidence of the crime.
Justice is given to the man
Who is now serving time.

No More Time To Waste

Lord, hymns like the one below (Have I Done My Best for Jesus? by E. D. Young ) make me ask how I even have the right to ask such honest questions, let alone sing the words. But it also compels me not to waste any more precious time that needs to be used for furthering Your kingdom and reaching out to Your children. You deserve ALL Your praise! And I don’t wish to waste one more breath with questions that YOU have not given me as You do when You give me poetry, words of encouragement for others, and this invaluable hymn You gave to E.D. Young.

Thank You for allowing me to learn it,
for every time You have brought it to mind,
and for allowing me to sing it TO and FOR You!

I love You, Father! ❤ I love You, Jesus! ❤ I love You, Holy Spirit! ❤

cropped-43950423_10217158636227537_4643250897021829120_n.jpg

I wonder have I done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon the cruel tree?
To think of His great sacrifice at Calvary!
I know my Lord expects the best from me.

The hours that I have wasted are so many
The hours I’ve spent for Christ so few;
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

I wonder have I cared enough for others,
Or have I let them die alone?
I might have helped a wand’rer to the Savior,
The seed of precious Life I might have sown.

No longer will I stay within the valley
I’ll climb to mountain heights above;
The world is dying now for want of someone
To tell them of the Savior’s matchless love.

Chorus:
How many are the lost that I have lifted?
How many are the chained I’ve helped to free?
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
When He has done so much for me?
– Have I Done My Best for Jesus? by E. D. Young –

Blowing Wind

gaillovesgodspoetry

A wind blows through, stirring the past.
Memories try to invade.
A love speaks up and makes it clear,
“This is the new creature I have made.”
Guilt finds opposition, shame meets its match.
God sends a smile for my spirit.
He reminds me every time I pray
That He does hear it.
I bow my head, close my eyes,
And mention the blowing wind.
He reassures He’s on the throne,
And protects me once again.
How great the grace and mercy of God,
Just to utter a prayer.
I cast my every care on Him
Because I know He cares.

Life Swimming Under

gaillovesgodspoetry

So much life just floating about,
Drifting with the flow.
Some are in a hurry,
Just swimming wherever they go.
The light and water
Playfully dance.
The eye and the mind
Are delightfully entranced.
The creatures are lively,
Creating ripples and waves.
I am entertained
By the show they make.
God is so gentle, generous, and loving
To create such wonder.
There is such beauty
In the life swimming under.

Word Play Salvation

gaillovesgodspoetry

Seashell, seahorse, seashore.
I just don’t want to fight anymore.
Straw hat, straw broom, straw chair.
I kneel and surrender in prayer.
Bookstore, bookshelf, bookends.
I atone and seek to make amends.
Light switch, light bulb, lighthouse.
God amazes and wows.
Word Game, word count, WordPress.
I stray less and less.
Waterway, waterfall, water filter.
I learn to love my brother and sister.
Skyline, skylight, sky view.
I learn the right thing to do.
Buttermilk, butter bean, butter knife.
I have invited Christ into my life.
