The Barnabas Award 10.21.19

Dear Lord! How Your love pours and pours… all over this blog (YOUR blog)… all over me… and all over those You use to bless me… and those You will allow me to bless in sharing! How do I begin to thank You for The Barnabas Award!

In the King James Version (KJV) of Your Holy Bible it means son of consolation,
“And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,”
– Acts 4:36 KJV

and in the New International Version (NIV) it means son of encouragement.
“Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”)”
– Acts 4:36 NIV

To be an encourager or a consoler for You… to bring someone cheer or comfort… with Your love… is a humbling privilege… an opportunity only You can give. Thank You for whispering my name to our dear Janet of My Father’s Symphony to nominate me for The Barnabas Award. . This sweet encourager has encouraged me! And through Your whispers to me will continue to comfort and cheer others. Praise Your Holy Name! The One True Comforter and The One True Encourager!

Thank You, Janet, for the kind nomination. Your blog, your precious family, and your strong love in the Lord is an encouragement to me. I love reading what God is doing for you! May the Lord continue to bless your blog and your family! Me and God love you! ❤Barnabas AwardYou have been chosen for this recognition because of the encouragement and inspiration you bring to your readers.

The way this works:

Thank the person who nominated you, and share their blog.

Think of five bloggers that encourage and inspire you and nominate them.

List five things about yourself.

Lastly, ask your nominees five questions. Why five? Because is the number that signifies grace.

Nominees:
Just 5, Lord??? How do I narrow down literally hundreds of souls who encourage me and console me, and many others each day here on WordPress?? If 5 is the number of grace, then 5 x 5 will share so much more of Your grace! Yes, that is 25! I pray for those who will NOT see their names, that You would help them to know what a tremendous encouragement/consolation they are to me and so many others!

  1. Congratulations Gail! You truly deserve this award. You have such a humble and loving Spirit and inspire me and so many others. Thanks for the nomination. The Holy Spirit is so precious. For years as a Christian I didn’t understand the work He does, but now I’m glad I’ve gotten to know Him better and still learning. 🕊

  2. Thank you so very much Gail for nominating me for this award, I am deeply humbled. I hope it is ok, but I am going to answer the questions here:

    1. Who in your life is your biggest encourager? It is hands down my husband. He is the one who encouraged me to start this blog and cheers me on with each post. For this, I am extremely grateful.

    2. How do you see yourself as being an encouragement to others? I do encourage my children daily through words and actions, but as far as others, I want others to feel that that are appreciated and I try to do that with my words, spoken or written.

    3. When was the last time someone gave you words of encouragement? You was you Gail, this morning when I was reading responses 🙂

    4. When you are down, what encourages you to get back up and keep pressing on? Prayer and my children.

    5. Who was your greatest encourager when you first accepted Christ? I accepted Christ as a young girl while I was attending VBS with a friend down the street. I knew it was big and felt that there should be a celebration for everyone who did this but there wasn’t and no ever said anything about it. We have wedding and baby showers, celebrate baptisms and confirmations but when someone accepts Christ I think there needs to be a party……people offering advice, gifting books that can help them on their journey, providing prayer over this new Christian. I hope this makes sense…..it was a very lonely journey to walk even though my parents took me to church.

    1. Praise God it is more than okay to do it here. Many do. As for number 2, you make a soul feel more than appreciated. You help the Lord keep me humbled with your love encouragement that I know He sends through you! Bringing good news to your responses in just like Him! My cup runneth over! ❤
Your number 5 makes think of how scripture the heavens celebrate over each soul that comes to Christ! There are some churches that try to celebrate as well, especially when they happen at river baptisms.
God celebrates you too, dear friend! ❤

    1. Praise His Holy name, sister! I am grateful He allowed me the opportunity to share. You are indeed an encourager as you surely am Isaiah 52:7
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”
You bring God’s word to everyone when you publish His verses. There are many days we all have when we are in dire need of a Proverbs 25:25
“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.”
Thank you for your kind and loving words that glorify our Father! I look forward to reading your post. And there are enough words to properly thank you for taking my name to God! Me and God cherish you, Margaret!
