Love That Loves

gaillovesgodspoetry

A love that loves the way love loves
Is the love I have with You.
There are no more guessing games.
Your love is pure and true.
The world keeps searching,
And telling what they require.
But You and You alone
Are all I ever desire.
Earthly love is filled with disappointment
And promises to be broken.
Som many love languages
Only leaves love unspoken.
But every vow of love
I hear You speak
Is witnessed when
You share strength with the weak.
You’re love forever.
I stay with You.
No other love
Could ever do!

Alas, I’m Home

gaillovesgodspoetry

Alas in sight, I see
A home prepared for me.
Cloudless skies and stormless days.
Enjoying a view with a heavenly haze.
The voice of God clear and strong
Conducting His choir with angelic song.
Crystal seas glisten bright.
Streets of gold reflect His Light.
Familiar faces soon appear.
Some were souls once so dear.
Dearer more, now they are
Always a part of my heart.
Dearest yet, my Sweet Jesus Christ!
Waiting to welcome home His bride.
Friends for life, death, and resurrection.
He is my Greatest expectation.
Alas I’m in His Holy presence,
Basking in His Holy essence.

Pouring Out Life

gaillovesgodspoetry

Life pouring out of a hurting soul.
It trickles as it falls.
A Savior’s blood pours forth to save,
His loving voice calls.
“My loved one I see the pain that drains,
And know all too well.
How it felt to suffer and agonize
When on My knees I fell.
I cried out to My Father to remove My burden,
Yet accepted what He gave.
And in return He strengthened Me
To bare it to My grave.
It took that death to restore that life,
And remove the burden within.
Now I have eternal life,
And will never lose it again.
I gave that life to give you yours
Because I love you so.
The Father longs to strengthen you,
And let your burden go.”

Persuaded By Love

gaillovesgodspoetry

Persuaded by love, I live.
I accept and cherish all He has to give.
Day by day, I will trust
That He will be my strength to do what I must.
Night after night, I will cling to Him,
Remembering many hurting souls need to know He loves them.
Life is challenging, but worth the breath.
We should live to honor His death.
Every moment is a treasured gift.
We are here to love, save, and lift.
Thank You, God, for mercy and grace,
And for teaching us Your loving ways.
Thank You for being new every day,
And leading us all along the way.
Thank You for never giving up on us,
And sending Your precious Jesus.

Lead Me, Lord!

” Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering;
not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
– Romans 2:4 KJV

“Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
– Isaiah 48:17 KJV

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
– Psalm 23:1-3 KJV

He Leadeth Me
– hymn lyrics by Joseph H. Gilmore

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

Refrain:
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful foll’wer I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

Soar

Oh how I long to soar with You, Holy Spirit! one day I will… SOON! ❤

Alethea's Mind

Pray

Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

A Refuge At All Times

“Trust in Him at all times; ye people,
pour out your heart before Him:

God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
– Psalm 62:8 KJV

How many times have I asked You, What shall I blog? Is there anything You want me to write? Anything that wouldn’t insult You, disgrace You, shame You? All the while something was choking the life right out of my chest? Too easily I dismissed it as “Well that’s between You and me… and doesn’t need to be broadcast to the world… only to bring them down… to depress them… or bring negativity… because it wasn’t something positive… it was honest… but it seemed so dishonoring to You.” And then You so loving remind me with Psalm 62:8 that is exactly how this blog began!

You designed a place for me to go and pour my heart out before You on this private blog called gaillovesgod because I was suffocating not being able to write to You. I couldn’t do this at home because of eyes that kept looking for my privately written thoughts to use them against me…. to intentionally come between You and me. A year later, You led me to encourage a friend who was doing a challenge by taking part in that challenge. In doing so, You led me to trust You in opening my site to be Public while doing that challenge. This challenge was to post 30 Truth Aspects about myself that others rarely knew. In obeying, You completely took me by surprise.

Others would comment on how encouraged they were, how they saw my love for You, saw Your love in my life, and either had or were going through the same things. I met so many friends all over the world… some just as in love with You… some with good reasons not to care for love at all… giving or receiving. Many are just consumed with the things we cannot avoid in human life, as Your Son very well knows.

Anxiety, depression, mental illness,
chronic illness, violence, death, filth.

Just because we are Christian does not mean we are immune from these realities of life. And just because some does not know or care that God loves them does not mean we are not to love one another and bear one another’s burdens. No one enjoys pain and suffering. You love ALL Your children.

For so many months I have avoided sharing the pain, the doctor visits, the many things that have added to my depression being so much worse lately. I read so many friends pouring their heart out to You, saying they feel alone, and suddenly I am convicted of neglecting You. Before I can get a chance to at least respond to them, life interferes and my depression persuades me I am my own evidence for why I don’t matter.

Many days I cannot write because of my health. Many days I cannot write because of circumstances. Some days the conversations of debating what to write and what does it matter goes on for so long that time and energy win out. But there are days it’s sheer neglect. If it weren’t for Facebook memories of verses and hymns, I would have been absent for several months. Please forgive me, Lord.

Sometimes You do call me away from the computer for time with You. Sometimes I am simply hiding under a sheltered wing that is allowing the rays to shine in, patiently waiting for me to notice the warmth of the sun, raise my weary head, and trust His loving nudge to be a part of living creation.

Thank You for reminding me of 5 good reasons to write what’s on my heart:

  1. For my testimony to show I TRUST You at ALL times!
  2. You WANT me to pour out my heart to You… everything!
  3. You are a refuge for everything that lays on my heart!
  4. You are a refuge for US… we need to know someone else has been there or currently is… right when we need it most.
  5. Everyone needs to hear God loves you!

And never let me forget SELAH! (THINK ON THIS). How much richer our lives would be if we would take time to remember Selah is not just a word. It is an invaluable moment of reflection on what You have given us to read, to act on, to sometimes avoid, to live. Thank You for giving me a moment of Selah now.

Thank You, God, for Your Word, Your mercy, Your grace, Your salvation, Your heart, Your love, Your patience, Your all! I love You! May gaillovesgod and gaillovesgodspoetry always honor You and do YOUR will, not mine!

Holy, Holy, Holy!

“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying,
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
Revelation 4:8 KJV

Holy, Holy, Holy
hymn lyrics written by Reginald Heber,

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy is Your name, dear Lord! How often You have salved my soul during challenging days and nights. Storms can be so fierce, but You are far mightier. Yet You tend to comfort and bring such a peace solely from being You! Thank you for allowing me to learn this song years ago, and allowing me to remember it during times of hardship, and in simply starting the day keeping You first. I love You! ❤

❤ I love You, Father God! ❤
❤ I love You, Sweet Jesus! ❤

Face to Face

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
– 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

Face to Face with Christ, My Savior
– hymn lyrics by Carrie Breck

Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?

Refrain:
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now I see Him,
With the darkened veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.

What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
Death is swallowed up in vict’ry,
And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face—oh, blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.

Oh, Lord, how I long for that day when I shall see You face to face! To hug you! To Thank You! How loving and sovereign You are to banish grief and pain! To swallow up death with the victory of Your resurrection! The same resurrection that reconciles us! Never to be separated again! No other love has ever been so powerful! Thank You for going to prepare a place for me! Thank You for the promise I know You will keep in coming back for me! To take me home with You forever! Whenever You’re ready! ❤

Thank You for hymns! Such comfort for our souls! Peace that can only come from You! You are such a calm to my soul! Thank You for THIS hymn! For now I see through a dark glass, but soon I will see You face to face! And I will know You as You know me! To be known… like You know me! You will free me of myself! I will fully be who You made me to be! And I will be able see me the way You do! How I long for that blissful moment far beyond the starry sky! ❤

❤ I love You, Father! ❤
❤ I love You, Jesus! ❤
❤ I love You, Holy Spirit! ❤

Lifeless Creation

gaillovesgodspoetry

Breezing through the air
A life is coming down.
The wind is the last friend
To be around.
Gentle as it carries.
Strong as it caresses.
Lifeless is the creation
As it passes.
Forgotten within the loss.
Never known in the hour.
Creation is blown to and fro
Within the stormy shower.
Cushioned along the fall,
God interferes.
“Be careful, my love one.
Your life is dear.”
Lifeless of vibrant,
I have a reason
To have you here
In this very season.

Image of Glory

gaillovesgodspoetry

You can smile.
There’s nothing to fear.
No matter what’s in your head,
God is always near.
You can speak.
No one watches your words.
You can believe God
Over everything you’ve ever heard.
You can be quiet.
God is the guard over your tongue.
He keeps you from the ugly,
And allows life to be sung.
You can trust.
God is not going to leave.
Life may be uncertain,
But in God’s word you can believe.
There you are
Being the child He made.
Every day that you mature,
More and more doubts fade.
Look at that smile.
God beams to watch you shine.
You can hear Him,
“This image of glory is ALL mine!”

How My Blog Got Started:
I began years privately talking with God. At one point the Lord led me to do a challenge a friend was doing, and to open my settings from private to public. To my delightful surprise I met and became a part of a wonderfully encouraging community that would let me know that my conversations with God were encouraging, and allowed the Lord to touch or bless them. Some even let me know they had or were going through similar situations. Whatever God wants to do with the blog He gave me, is all up to Him! 🙂

Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers:
1. Write what you want, when you want, or not! It’s YOUR blog!
2. God loves you and wants to preserve you through His word!

Recently a friend asked me how I knew I could trust God. Why did I believe Him? This friend knew my background… foster care, molestation, violence and death, and being a single mom. At first I told them I had been asked that before and thought on it. All I could say was because of God! He has made HImself present all throughout my life. He has proven Himself true and faithful many times over.

Later at home, while I was praying on the question what makes me believe in Him and makes Him trustworthy,  I was doing my devotion. God made it clear He was answering the question as He had me open to

Mem: Psalm 119:97-104.

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

I’ve never really wanted to come across as arrogant in saying such things as… wiser than mine enemies, more than my teacher, or more than my ancients, but the Lord Himself was pointing out to me this particular moment that He WAS being specific in that while my enemies were and are ever with me, that His word gave me the wisdom to be wise in how I conducted myself to survive them and to live despite them. He gave me understanding to help me see while some teachers meant well, that HE was my teacher in appropriate living, and the discretion to simply grow quietly with Him. And He protected me from the misconceptions and family cycles of the ancients of my growing up (aka ancestors or elders), and through His precepts gave me understanding that preserved my soul, my thinking, and my life. Because I sought to know Him, His word, and His commandments… to know His will in my life… He has used wisdom, understanding, discernment, knowledge, His testimony, His judgment, and everything about HIM to personally be my teacher, my guide, my God. And I love everything about Him and His word! That is how I came to firmly believe in Him, and wholeheartedly trust Him and His Holy word. And I still do. 🙂

And you know, after I sent that message to my friend, the Lord allowed me to see the 98th verse anew.

Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies:
for they are ever with me.”

He allowed me to see His commandments as ever being with me, instead of my enemies. 🙂 What a loving teacher He is!
