Breathers: 7.19.18, Night 2 of 3

Lord, how grateful I am that You think of me in such loving ways. That You whisper sweet words of tender care just when and where You know that I need them. And that even if I forget them as quickly as I heard them, that it did not take that moment away from me, that I did not disappoint You or anger You, and that You are faithful to continue whispering (shouting if You need to) the words, the sermons, the songs You know I need, because You know the battle is far from over. It will never be completely settled until we are settled in at home… with You.bbs6.21.18.11.jpgThis night You had allowed me to make it to Breathers ladies bible study. It was night 2 of the 3 we will have this 2018 summer. In the Cool of the Evening was the title for this night. Many things tried to hinder my making it, but You were so protective to get me here. There would be the sadness of not having Sarah with us, which meant no Sarah hugs. But I know You were with her while You were with us, and were giving her all the hugs she needed from You.

You allowed me to make it in time enough to stop by the ladies room. As I looked to see if it was occupied, I noticed the door slightly open with the light off. Slowly opening the door, I heard a voice in the dark say, “Oh! Hello!” Immediately I went to close the door while apologizing, but again heard the voice in the dark say, “Oh no! I want you to come on in.” That was kind of creepy, but I knew I was in the ladies room at church, so I entered carefully. A lady was putting her lipstick back in her purse, as she insisted I take the room. As she left, I thought of how skilled she and her eyes must be to put lipstick on in the dark. She was facing the mirror to do it.

After that laugh, I got signed in, was given a pen from the church, got a Keitha hug 🙂 , and found a seat at the table. On the table, I found a little bag with a cute little message,
“There is always room for Smore love.” ❤IMG_20180719_204409How adorable! I will finally get to try one of those things I’ve heard so much about through the years! It takes a lot of discipline not to open it so I can get a picture of it first.

I also see a paper reminding us of a guest speaker,
and a place to take notes on later while she is speaking to us.IMG_20180719_204703

I look up and see a couple of ladies preparing music for us. **GASP** Tracey will be singing for us! ❤ What a delightful surprise! I watch as they prepare, but try not to interrupt. Instead, I pray for them. Later, Tracey would make my day by saying hey and sharing a Tracey hug! 🙂 After meeting a couple of new sisters in Christ, Keitha opens the night with prayer and instructions. We go get snacks. I ate a couple of sleeping bags. 😉 Yes, that’s right! 2 of the cutest little pigs in the blankets I have ever seen.

IMG_20180719_204541The message was so You meeting me where I needed it, even if I didn’t know what I needed, or where I was for You to find me with what I needed. That has been the theme from You lately. As this issue with falling asleep everywhere, and the brain fog, and memory struggles continue even while I am here and listening. I started to struggle with staying upright. I’m most worried about offending the guest speaker.

These are the notes and verses I managed to get while half awake:IMG_20180719_204726“And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.  And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.” – Exodus 4:1-2

What’s in your hand? God is a God who sees and hears. Even when you can’t voice your needs/cries to Him because you don’t even know what they are. God hears and is helping against whatever has been your taskmaster.

“And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.” – Exodus 3:7

God has a divine strategy to alleviate the suffering of humanity and it involves you.
For the glory of His salvation!
What’s your stick? What are you holding on to?
Depression – just don’t enjoy anything anymore.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7

Cracked pots. There is one word that we CAN do in trying to do something for Jesus:
YES. We can say yes.
What are you holding on to?
What’s in your hands?
You feed them.
Free them of their taskmasters.

Dear, Lord, how discouraged I am at this moment in wondering how you can involve me in helping alleviate others’ sufferings when I can’t even stay awake. How can I even know what is in my hand to let go of when I cannot even think straight from struggling to stay awake? Surely I will just keep messing things up.
And then You remind me with that little blue box on the paper. IMG_20180719_204453“If you think you’ve blown God’s plan for your life, rest in this:
You, my beautiful friend, are not that powerful.”
– Lisa Bevere

At the end of the night, I grabbed a banana pudding on the way out, and managed with Your help to wait til I got to the car and take pictures before I ate anything.
Worth the wait!! 🙂 Thank You, Lord!
IMG_20180719_204251
The Smore was worth waiting to try, but was so messy trying to eat that I think,
“Nope. Not me. Especially not while camping and with no napkins.”IMG_20180719_204409I don’t really care for snacks or foods that are so messy that it’s a struggle not to get it all over the place between each bite, or just to hold it. Yes, I could taste why people like it, but unless I am in a setting with plenty of napkins, maybe even one or two wet ones, and a drink to wash it down, I will pass on it.

On the way out we grabbed a card for next month.

There’s so much I wanted to blog and share, to love on Keitha with, to share with Sarah, but my sleep, memory, and health issues just won’t accommodate. So I am doing what I can do… still praise You with what You will allow. I share the blessing You gave me with the very mind I am still working with. I may not be able to remember everything, and trusted Your whisper to leave my camera in the car to better focus on You while I was present there. But I KNOW I was blessed. I remember that with absolute! And I share as honestly as I can. I leave the blessings meant for others to You. You can do anything.

For Your word says:
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” – Luke 1:37

And I believe!! ❤

Thank You, God! Thank You!

Please bless each lady!

One of the guys in the class was so convinced the professor was flirting with him that we could not convince him that the professor was married with kids and very straight.. He kept saying, “I knew you girls would think because he has kids he can’t be gay, but if you could have seen the way he was flirting with me… the things he was doing…  he had no shame in making it clear right there in class how much he wanted me.” LOL! Me and the girls who later knew laughed so hard.

And if I say to another, ‘Go there.’ I know that he will go. I need not see. I know. So it is enough that you give the word, and it will be done.”

Prayer Update on Shian 7.22.18

Prayer Warriors, fellow Cancer Survivors and Patients, and dear friends who have been helping me to pray for my friend Shian since mentioning her prayer need back in December of last year when I posted Gifts 2017 #21 Prayer Warriors, I have a praiseworthy update and a request for continued prayer.

Shian has given me permission to share
her update from her Facebook page with you.
Praise God for the smiles on Shian and Darryll’s faces! 🙂
37271062_10215759539362892_214038234907279360_nFive months ago today, I finished my fourth round of chemo, and then we decided to stop treatments. I have been in remission since December, but the doctors remind us there is no cure and much more treatment is needed to keep the cancer away longer. We, and many of you, prayed for weeks about this decision. We know God works through medicine but we also know He can heal without it, it’s all miraculous. So today, we celebrate five months of leaving it with Him. We pray constantly for encouragement, for confirmation, for direction and we give praise for every single day my remission continues. Don’t stop praying over us and praising with us. #fullofGodnotfear

I am so excited for her good news and absolutely continue to pray with and for her. I LOVE her hashtag #fullofGodnotfear (Full of God, Not Fear). Many of you really loved her picture from her announcement of her diagnosis and the beginning of her battle. So I share it again below along with a link to that post for those who may have missed it or joined us since, as I know you praise and pray with me!
Thank you again for helping me to pray for her! Me & God love you! ❤shian.1Gifts 2017 #21 Prayer Warriors

7.21.18 Update: Kimberly’s PCT Hike

An update for everyone helping me to pray for my Cousin Kimberly while she hikes the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) from Mexico to Canada:

Kimberly needs prayer!
She has a stress fracture in her left foot
and a sprained ankle on her right foot.

Below are her updates:

July 16, 2018
Trail Update: I made it to South Lake Tahoe on Friday and kinda zeroed in town (still hiked 12.4 miles that morning). I was going to get back on Trail Saturday morning but my foot wasn’t having it. So… I’m not on trail 😳 I’m in Florida resting my bones/feet. I decided it was best to completely get off trail for a few days, go to the Dr and hopefully get answers about what’s happening to my poor feet. My hike was starting to become a painful hassle and chore instead of a beautiful, fun adventure. I’m hoping that with some real rest, time away from Trail towns (can’t really rest there) and a Dr visit that I’ll be good as new soon and back at it asap. Thank you to everyone who’s been keeping me in your prayers and sending good vibes with this foot jazz. It is much appreciated and still needed. I’m already trail sick and miss it so much I can’t stand it but I have to get feeling better if I’m finishing this year. I’ll keep you guys updated when I learn more. Thanks again for following along and all the support!!
❤️, Legs

July 18, 2018
Feet update: Went to the Dr yesterday to get answers… didn’t like either one I got. I have a stress fracture in my left foot and a sprained right ankle 😩😩 I’m resting for now. Figuring out life tomorrow. Missing the trail and my trail family like crazy!!

Kimberly has achieved so much!
On July 8th she made her 1000 mile marker!
That means she has walked 1,000 miles of her 2,650 miles.36847443_10155367801496035_469098097595645952_nHere are a few of her recent trail pictures as she has been hiking through the Sierra Mountains. I want to focus more on Kimberly needing prayer as she takes some time off the trail for much needed healing for her feet.

And to try to make things easier on updating, and hopefully take pressure off any dates to keep up with I have changed the title of the blog and updates to correlate with what day they are being updated. That way everyone does not feel like they are missing out. I know you are with me on wanting Kimberly to be able to take all the time she needs to heal so that she will be strong on the trail. She has certainly earned it!!

And for fun, here is a flashback from Kimberly’s Facebook memories that celebrated Kimberly being recognized for being the first woman to YO-YO the MST (Mountain to Sea Trail) here in North Carolina! That meant she hiked from the Tennessee/North Carolina border to the east coast and back!!37199439_643000372732530_3898600655631155200_n

Lastly, I leave you and Kimberly both with the song God still has me thinking on her with… God Leads Us Along. Whenever I am on the Parkway and I see sunsets, sunrises, a glaring sun, the beautiful river, or different things He allows me to see on my walk (which He used Kimberly to inspire me to do) that she may have even shared a similar picture of, He allows me to lovingly see Him walking His dear child along her trail, whether through the desert, the Sierra Mountains, or anywhere she journeys!

God loves you, Kimberly! ❤ And so do I! ❤
And We love each one of you! ❤
Thank you for helping me praying for her.29511773_2055391427809044_3113805081282536436_n

Oh.. and Kimberly left a personal message in my Facebook Inbox to share with you who have been following her updates here, and leaving such loving encouragement and support in your comments to her!

Thank you for letting everyone know!! I love you and appreciate your support! ❤️❤️❤️ You and everyone who’s been praying for me and following along. I’m still able to walk, there’s just pain involved so I’m trying my best to keep off of them and get the rest my body needs. Thanks so much!

Breathers: 6.21.18, Night 1 of 3

“Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.”
Be Still, My Soul, hymn lyrics by Katharina von Schlegel

My dearest Lord and Savior, how often I sadly forget You are on my side… allowing the enemy footholds He does not deserve. How mercifully You help me to bear patiently any cross of grief or pain You ask of me. How faithful You are to order and provide, even when I forget I have left everything to You in trust, or carelessly fail to do so. Yet faithful You absolutely remain in every change. You are my soul’s best Friend, my heavenly Friend. You only lead me through thorny ways to lead me to a joyful end that will have Your unmistakable name written all over it… and signed with Love From Above. ❤

You have done this for me in another ladies Bible study
with Keitha and Sarah! 🙂 pastedImageOn June 21st of last month, You allowed me the blessing of being with my two dear friends in sharing and studying You again! This time it will be a 3 night event, one for each 3rd Thursday evening of the 2018 summer. Our first night was Soaking Up the Summer, Son, and Shade. We are blessed to be book free, homework free, and free to enjoy You together… fitting the theme just perfectly, as You so designed! Breathers!

Of course we did not leave out YOUR book…. The Holy Bible.
The verse we each found in our place at the table
was from Psalm 23:2-3.bbs6.21.18.12How often You have comforted my soul with this very passage!
The thought of being with You beside beautiful peaceful waters,
restores my soul with love only You can give! ❤
We found this verse along with the cutest little bucket…
bbs6.21.18.13As well as the the cutest little shovel, rake, and scoop
inside the bucket…bbs6.21.18.10And the tiniest little beach ball I have ever seen.
I can’t believe I actually had the lungs to blow it up,
but I did as soon as I got home! 🙂bbs6.21.18.1 We had cute napkins that had a beach scene,
and said just the word we needed on both sides… Relax!

We had door prizes… and I won one!! 🙂
And Sarah did too!! 🙂
PTL! Thank You, Heavenly Father! ❤
A large bucket with goodies inside! Mine was blue! 😉
bbs6.21.18.14The goodies inside were bubbles to blow and play with,
sun tan lotion, Goldfish crackers, Swedish Fish gummy worm like candy,
and a Cranberry drink.

I was blessed with fellowship, awesome dessert and pretzel snacks, Keitha hugs, Sarah hugs, conversations, and of course a video from the lady who put Breathers together, but I am ashamed to say I forget her name. I know she spoke on being so busy on what we are doing for Christ that we lose our joy for it, and forget to be thankful for who and what He has given us.

She also shared a video by Kari Jobe called Be Still, My Soul.

**Gasp** My dear Savior! You and You alone know how to give us just what we need when we don’t even know we need it because we don’t even know it exists! But You! You know… and give! ❤ Thank You for allowing my soul to be reminded in being active… determined… vocal… in being still… trusting the very command to be faithful to do that very thing. How desperately my raging fear needed the eviction to allow You to be the God of my Spirit that You are. The flesh may wage a war, but Your Spirit is faithful to battle for us! Even when all we can do is voice the words… maybe even only allow the song to play first… to build the strength we need to voice the command ourselves.bbs6.21.18.11Tomorrow night will be night 2 of 3… In the Cool of the Evening. And while I find hope in thinking on Keitha hugs and Sarah hugs, and the fellowship with my precious sisters in Christ, my soul longs to meet with You again… and see what new things You have for us. Whatever it is, I know You are already there. Before our day has even arrived, You have designed a couple of hours set aside just for each one of us… individually and as a group.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
 – Psalm 23 KJV

I finish with one last thank You, a prayer for each lady and the night itself, and the song You gave us… but in the full hymn for all of my friends who love hymns (me included, Lord! 😉 ). Every word has comforted my soul… and does each time I read it. ❤

Be Still, My Soul (The Lord Is On Thy Side)
– hymn lyrics by Katharina von Schlegel

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.

Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise
On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high;
Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways,
So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye.
Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine
Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

Mystery Blogger Award 6.25.18

How great is the mystery of Your love toward me, Lord. You love knows no ends, and pours forth in so many wonderful and mysterious ways… like a blog that allows me to tell the world how much I love You… and how much You love them! ❤
You have shown me love through the nomination from a dear brother in Christ. photogrid_1476365612975Stu of Stubaby has nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award. Stu is another way that You show Your love towards so many as he ministers to others who struggle with porn addiction and the challenges of a previously unclean life… both subjects being so taboo in the Christian community, or when addressed kept so clean that it does not deal with the subject honestly, and those who desperately need the resources do not benefit from them at all. I know I am certainly one of those who are blessed by his posts, his testimony, his honesty, and his determination to keep it all about You!

Thank you, brother Stu, for allowing God to use you to show His love to me. May the Lord bless you and your precious family, your blog, your ministries, and all that He gives you.
He loves you too!

Stu’s Questions For Me:

1. What topic would you like me to address here on my blog?
I was really convicted and touched by your post Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder. Your patience with your wife’s need, and your anger towards the pain previously inflicted on her was touching, but your honesty about the hurt it caused you allowed me to see how it was so personal on your own self-esteem/confidence. I would have never thought… believed such a thing could hurt a man unless simply hurting his ego.

2. Would you accept the challenge to step out of your comfort zone and write a post about pornography and how it is affecting our youth and/or marriages? And if so, would you share the link in the comment section so my readers can see it?
I will honestly pray about it. If God leads me to, I will write it and link it.

3. What is your favorite book in the Bible to read?
The Holy Bible!

4. How do you study when reading said book?
Different ways on different days, different settings, different purposes. But I try to make sure to pray before and after I do, trying to always allow the Holy Spirit to guide me.

5. Now for the funny/goofy question. This one I have been asked in the past because I grew up reading comic books and even now I watch The Arrow and The Flash. If you could have any super power in the world what would it be and how would you use it?
To never shame the name of Christ! Even if only from here and now on, I would still have a testimony of how deep into the pit He is willing to walk with us to save us from our enemies… especially ourselves.

Sunshine Blogger Award 6.23.18

Our Gracious Heavenly Father, how loving and generous You are to allow Your sun to shine within my days, so bright that I can easily remember the warmth and comfort in the midst of this dark night. It gives much needed hope that whatever may be tonight, Your sun will come out tomorrow. Whether hidden behind a darkness of black clouds, peeking through clouds with those playful rays, or shining so bright that there is no mistaking what You deemed to be good… the Day.  Yet how far more loving to share Your beautiful Son in our lives… our hearts… reminding us that no darkness in the world can put His light out. Not even death! ❤ Thank You for the hope, the assurance that He is coming back for us!

How thoughtful You are to me, my Lord, through my dearest Anabel! While visiting over on her site… Lebana’s Journal,  I found she nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. I feel so bad that I was just finding it this weekend, but I am ever so glad that You allowed me to find so I could thank her.screenshot_2018-04-23-18-27-311042529194Thank you, Anabel, for thinking of me with your nomination. You are such a merciful and loving sister in Christ. A fellow poet who knows the struggle AND the beauty in the darkness. If it weren’t for the darkness, we wouldn’t know to appreciate light. My Weekend Be Like This Tag 6.25.18

Lord, I give up. I am ashamed to say it, but I must wave the white flag.
Lovely A of Discovering Your Happiness nominated me
for the My Weekend Be Like This Tag several days ago. I have been trying to get the pictures for that weekend that had just fallen and the one that came after. But between an unfaithful camera, a very exhausting WordPress issue with Spammers, so many little things that are far from being small, and this issue with sleeping all the time…. it is all too much for me. SO I am afraid I must disqualify myself. My Weekend(s) be like Sketchy!

I remember originally I was excited about Joseph’s new book being out…
Table 41: A Novel by Joseph Suglia! 🙂

Table41.1

I was so excited to finally get his book in a physical form because the computer puts me to sleep no matter how much I am interested in something. Thank You, God, for his insisting on sending me a copy from him even though I had already purchased one from Amazon because somehow they lost my order altogether! Now I will be able to share it with my son!
Lord, please help my neurologist, my sleep specialist, and other specialists figure out what’s going on with this falling asleep out of nowhere and sleeping sound… for hours… and still waking like I could sleep my life away. I’m missing out on my friends!

I also remember excited to share that You gave me a new ladies Bible study to attend with Keitha and Sarah! I even got some Keitha hugs, Sarah hugs, and a Kristy hug! bbs6.21.18.3.jpgWe met on June 21st, and will meet again next week. I need to get that blog up for them!! Thank You for knowing exactly what I need through these Godly sisters in Christ!!

I remember being excited to do this tag for Lovely A (aka Miss Lovely), my-weekend-be-like-this-tagfor all the loving birthday wishes, I still have 2 other awards as well, and have been working away on getting the poetry up. Thank You, God, for scheduled posting. That’s really been a matter of copy, paste, and schedule.

I remember that their were several things as I tried to make a post work with a weekend, but My Weekends Be Like… sleep… sleep… sleep… church… music videos… struggling with fear and depression… car issues… house issues… family issues… LIFE! Getting pictures to chronologically tell what’s happening… is just not happening. 😉

Thank you, Miss Lovely for thinking  of me. May the nominees have a better chance of making you look good!
