“Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
Children of the Lord.”
– Rise and Shine (the Arky, Arky Song), Children’s song
“Turn your light on. Turn your light on. It’s important that you shine, shine shine.
Turn your light on. Turn your light on. It’s important that you shine, shine shine.”
– Turn Your Light On, Children’s song
“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine.”
– This Little Light of Mine, lyrics by Harry Dixon Loes
How can I see the word Sunshine, especially as an award, and NOT think of these songs, Dear Lord. An award that is meant to shine light on this blog and give glory to the owner/author or the content therein. Yet it is all You! You gave me this blog, and the whispers that have created the words each time. I praise Your Holy name for shining glory on Your whispers, and giving glory that I can completely shine on You! Turning YOUR light on! I’m gonna let it shine as much as the Holy Spirit will allow! 🙂
“The sun comes up. It’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me.
Let me be singing when the evening comes.”
– 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord), lyrics by Jonas Myrin / Matt Redman
And of course it brings to mind the more common song.
“You are my sunshine. You are my sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You’ll never know dear how much I love you.
Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
– You Are My Sunshine, lyrics by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell

Congrats on the Sunshine – you’ve chosen some great songs to accompany the award! I don’t like coffee either (love the smell of a cappuccino but I’ve always hated the taste of coffee). Hot chocolate, however, definitely gets a thumbs up! 🙂

Congratulations on you award, you deserve them all!! I love your answers, and that they are never far from our Lord :):):) I am so humbled, and thankful that you nominated me but I just accepted this award back in December. I feel ungrateful saying this but please feel free to nominate someone else in my place. Big hugs my dear friend, I am so grateful to God that He has chosen to cross our paths. It has been a great blessing to me. Your love for our Father is an inspiration :):):):)

PTL! Thank you, Margaret! Please don’t feel bad. I use to feel the same way until I saw people posting they had been waiting for their first one… for years. So now it’s more of a way to share God’s love and encouragement with others. Some do them, some don’t, and some just do them in their own way. PLEASE don’t feel bad! It’s meant to encourage you and let you know God was thinking of you! I, too, am so grateful God crossed our paths! Me and God love you too, Sister! ❤ 🙂
